Olympiaregion Seefeld is situated in the heart of the Alps and is surrounded by the largest nature park in the Eastern Alps. Located on a plateau between Wetterstein and Karwendel, the region is known for its cross-country ski tracks.
The Alps‘ most modern cross-country ski resort, with its Nordic Competence Centre, has also been noticed by FIS and has been selected as venue of the FIS Nordic Ski World Cup twice already. In addition, the Nordic disciplines at the Winter Olympics have also been staged here three times already.
The Ganghoferlauf is Austria’s biggest and oldest fun cross-country skiing race and celebrates its 50th anniversary. The anniversary edition is staged at the same time as the 2020 Ski Marathon European Championship.
