Cross-country skiing in the Dolomites Region Seiser Alm

Covered in deep snow, the wintery Seiser Alm is a real paradise for cross-country skiers. All cross-country skiers, whether skaters or classic skiers, beginners or pros, feel at home here in the heart of the Dolomites. A seemingly endless landscape, slightly hilly and with small areas of forest, all surrounded by the impressive Dolomites, promises an unforgettable cross-country skiing experience.

There is a choice of 80 kilometres of cross-country skiing tracks of various difficulty levels. The lengths of the individual tours vary from 2 kilometres for beginners to the 15 kilometres long Jochloipe track - the longest high-altitude cross-country ski track on the Seiser Alm. If that is not enough for you, then you can take the 7.5 km long connecting track to Val Gardena, which is another one of the El Dorados for cross-country skiing fans. All tracks are dual or quadruple and can also be used for skating.

A fee is charged for using the cross-country ski tracks on the Seiser Alm.
The tickets are available at the Seiser Alm information office and from the cross-country ski track inspector.

The locals say that the South Tyrolean Dolomites are most beautiful here. The summits of the Langkofel, Pattkofel and Schlern rise up wild and majestically into the sky – the Dolomites, a UNESCO world heritage site, are your constant companion on a cross-country skiing holiday in the Dolomite region of Seiser Alm.

The Seiser Alm in South Tyrol is highly regarded by top international teams - and not without reason. The five towns of Kastelruth, Seis am Schlern, Völs am Schlern, Seiser Alm and Tiers am Rosengarten together form the Dolomite region of Seiser Alm – a true Mecca for cross-country skiing fans. Because the largest high-altitude alpine pasture in Europe offers cross-country ski trails at sunny locations between 1,800 and 2,200 m above sea level. Perfect for ambitious altitude training. Perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sunshine.

Together with Gröden, the Seiser Alm/Val Gardena is part of the biggest cross-country skiing-carousel in Europe, the Dolomiti Nordicski with an incredible 1,300 km network of cross-country ski trails.

All active night owls, from beginners to experts, will also find exactly what they’re looking for on their winter holiday in the Dolomite region of Seiser Alm. Because once a year night becomes day here: during the Moonlight Classic, the night-time cross-country skiing race on the Seiser Alm that will be taking place for the 16th time in late January 2024. Participants take on 15 and 30 km in the classic diagonal style under a starry moonlight sky and wearing headlamps.
