Set off from the Timmels Bridge on countless numerous tours

Welcome to your high-alpine winter sports holiday in the Passeiertal Valley. The quaint valley to the north of Merano is the home of the popular Tyrolean hero Andreas Hofer, one of the most scenically diverse valleys in South Tyrol and also a completely natural ski touring paradise. You’ll find the best conditions here from December to April and 300 days of sunshine every year.

The valley extends along a former long-distance trade route and up to the Timmelsjoch – in the rear Passeiertal Valley the protected high-alpine landscape opens up to the north with impressive views. The most important routes run along the southern side of the main alpine ridge – surrounded by the Texel Group National Park, the Sarntal valley and the Stubai Alps. The Timmels Bridge is the starting point for numerous wonderful tours, for example to the Gürtelwand and the Botzer and Banker Joch. The round three-hour long ski tour in the Passeiertal Valley to the Rötenspitze is a highlight for many ski tourers.

Avalance crash courses are offered to give beginners an insight into the most important rules of behaviour in open terrain. Safety is very important on your ski touring holiday in the Passeiertal Valley. To guarantee this safety, there are avalanche transceiver control stations and an avalanche camp in Pfelders – the charming mountain village at the end of the valley – where the avalanche transceiver can be tested in open terrain.
