And it’s all due to the favourable location of between 1,100 and 1,300 metres above sea level. Even in times when some winter regions struggle with a lack of snow. It’s not uncommon to find a snow covering of 100 to 150 centimetres here.

A cross-country skiing holiday in Bodenmais offers not only enough snow, but also enough variety – for both beginners and experienced skiers. Beginners can do gentle laps around the stadium in the Bretterschachten centre, while experienced skiers set off along the 18 km or trails alongside the Großer Arber. And hobby skiers? They can take a break and enjoy some hot coffee at the cosy Chamer Hütte at over 1,300 m. Rounded off with wide-reaching views of the Bavarian Forest.
